THE PROJECT

The Marine Environmental Monitoring Station (Sea Station) was born from sharing the intentions of all public research bodies, which led to the definition of the main innovation needs of the Ligurian entrepreneurial fabric and, consequently, to the establishment of three cooperative research laboratories: NAVE/SHIP Lab, HPC Lab, SEA Lab.

The laboratories, created as a virtual container of needs and skills, have received targeted investments, co-financed by Liguria Region , first through ERDF funds (2011-2014) and then with FSCfunds, as part of the project to create a "Cittadella (fortress/citadel) of the Sea” at the former hospital “Bruno Falcomatà”.

The Liguria Cluster for Marine Technologies has completed the procurement of the HPC and NAVE/SHIP laboratories’ ,, main infrastructures: a high-performance computing cluster (HPC Lab) has been put into operation and for the NAVE/SHIP Lab’s planned activities, the main software for multiphysics numerical simulation has been acquired. ,.
